I can’t find a Switzerland Schengen visa appointment in New Delhi
When you deal with more than 1 lakh applications a year, it is quite common for the consulates to get booked two to three months in advance. But don’t worry, you can work around this.
Get an appointment with a consulate of a different jurisdiction
If you are unable to get a Switzerland Schengen visa appointment in New Delhi, then try getting one with the Swiss consulates in Mumbai or Bangalore. This is the very first thing you can try when you’re unable to get an appointment.
But there are chances that this might not work. Getting an appointment is still subject to availability.
Change the main destination of your travel
Your main destination is the country that you will spend the most time in during your travel. So if you’re unable to get an appointment with the Swiss consulates, then try changing your main destination to a country not as popular. Countries like Malta, Luxembourg, Iceland, etc. don’t have a very high inflow of tourists.
All you need is a tentative travel plan that can help you get your visa approved. And you can get a temporary travel plan from Travel Visa Bookings. You could just tell the consulate that you are actually planning to spend more time in Malta but you’re also visiting Switzerland. Once your visa is approved, you’re free to go anywhere in the 26 Schengen countries.
You can take a look at our prices for temporary travel bookings here. You can also head over to our article on what you can do if you can’t find a Schengen visa appointment to learn about it in detail.
Wait till someone cancels their appointment
This can be risky as you may never find an appointment. But there have also been many times when tourists have been patient and got visa appointments. So, don’t ignore this option completely.
The process to getting an appointment with this method can be cumbersome. You’ll have to open multiple windows or tabs, check the official websites for any slots opening up, and keep a keen watch to see if you can grab an available slot. Remember to keep refreshing the pages.
