How to book an appointment with the France consulate in Washington DC ?

To make an appointment with the DC consulate, you need to first click the “apply for French visa in the US” section

You will now be taken to a new website, designed recently to handle all France visa requests.

Scroll down and select the “Whom should I contact ?” image as shown below to make an appointment with the French consulate in DC

Select “Set up an appointment” as shown below . Make sure you are making an appointment for your France visa at the Washington consulate

You will now be taken to the Diplomatie website where you can book your appointment. Accept conditions and then click Next

You can now book the appointment for your France visa application. Select the date and time slot for which you need to make an appointment.Click on Next,

Next enter your personal details such as name , passport number, phone no and email info.

Click on confirm .Once you make your appointment, you can print out the copy of your appointment letter . You need to take it with you when you are going to the embassy for submitting your Schengen visa application. Your appointment letter would look something as shown below.

Proof of sustenance (either as bank statements travel cards, credit cards) to show that you can sustain yourself financially when you are in Europe

Personal Covering letter or travel itinerary explaining in detail the purpose of the visit.This needs to explain in detail your entire travel plan and all the documents that you have submitted addressing the Washington DC consulate.

If the applicant is under 18 years old

If the applicant is under 18 years old :
→ copy of his/her birth certificate + certified translation if the document is not in French or English
