Our image above could not be any more appropriate, when I visited the VFS office recently I was welcomed by gloomy suited faces whose eyes were fixated on the Schengen visa application forms which they were diligently filling out taking extra care to not make an error, with only a few of them being successful in that pursuit. I had to feel sorry for these people, but with further research they could have made it much easier by filling out their Schengen application form online and taking that to the consulate.

Want temporary flight, hotel or insurance for your Schengen visa appointment ?
This could be a little bit confusing. Since one Schengen visa visa will allow you to visit all the schengen visa where should you apply for your Schengen visa ? Which consulate should you apply your Schengen visa at ?
Let us take an example where you are visiting 3 countries (Spain, Italy and Germany) for your Schengen trip for a total of 15 days. Then the consulate that you need to apply at depends on the following factors.
In which country are you spending most days in ?
If you are spending 8 days in Spain, 3 days in Italy and the rest in Germany, then you need to apply for your Schengen visa at the Spain consulate. If you are Spending more than 5 days in any of the above countries, then you need to apply for Schengen visa in that consulate (for the above example)
If I am spending equal days in all the countries, then where should I apply for my Schengen tourist visa ?
In that case, you need to apply for your tourist visa in the first country you are planning to visit. In the above example, if you are spending 5 days each in Spain, Italy and Germany, then you need to apply for Schengen visa in Spain consulate.
NO. Although Schengen short-stay visa is granted for a maximum of 3 days, do not make the wrong assumption that the you will be granted visa for the whole 3 months. Schengen visa will be granted to you only for the specified number of days, and the specific dates that you have mentioned. So if you are travelling for 8 days in august 1st to August 8th then your visa will be granted for only those 8 days. After that there is very little chance of extension. So plan your trip carefully

In fact the European union visa requirements for visa states the same.As per the official document,

- Hotel booking , hostel reservations for Schengen visa, Or any other country that you are planning to stay. So you will need to make all the hotel bookings and reservations before you leave. Again you can use an online travel agent to make hotel reservations for visa applications for you without you having to swipe your card. This may not seem important but when you factor in all the currency conversions, filling up each and every form and HUGE cancellation fee if you can’t make it to one place then it is always reasonable to get it done through online agents. An added benefit is most of the travel agents charge you about $50 for the entire trip and not for each and every booking, which is a bargain when you factor in currency conversion charges.
